It is clear that you don't know exactly what you need to do. From your post it looks like you are a tester.
Go to the person who has given you this assignment and ask him for a test case(s) with test data.
Take this test data to a SD analyst and ask him/her to explain and show what and how things need to be done.
These type of vague questions are often asked at the work place. It is easier to be busy, ask a bunch of questions, say a bunch of comments but not know or convey what exactly needs to be done. Maybe because clarity is difficult and people don't devote things time unless those things become urgent.
